FIRST CONTACT

David couldn't believe his own eyes, but the tingle of his lips and the unbridled excitement racing through his body could not be denied. An angel, of all things, just gave him a kiss! She didn’t disappear in a flash of bright light as he remembered in his dreams. David followed her graceful movement, mesmerized by the golden flecks that sparkled with a life of their own in the depths of her doe-like eyes. Hauntingly beautiful, warm and inviting yet very unusual...

"Oh my God, your eyes have no whites!"

Stiff and sore, he struggled to a sitting position and managed to swing his legs over the side of the bunk. He cocked his head up and frowned at the odd angel standing six feet tall with long golden hair that hung to her waist. He blinked at the sexy red wrap that barely contained the voluptuous figure hidden beneath. The silky fabric caressed her honey colored skin, stopping mid thigh to expose long shapely legs and slender ankles. His heart raced, and his body excitedly responded to the angel's alluring presence.

Confused by his immoral reaction, David forced his gaze back to hers, and did a double take. Some angel, she must have fallen from grace, because she was blatantly appraising his masculine attributes. That's when his keen eye noticed her lack of wings.

Welcome, my name is Commander Zara Darien of the Shimuran Starship Command."

He stared at her in total dismay. The beautiful, musical voice made no sense whatsoever. He looked around the room, taking in the cold, metal walls and narrow bunk. This wasn't the hereafter, but rather the inside of a spaceship, and it wasn’t Independence.

He leaped to his feet. "You must the alien who shot me down!"

Getting no reaction from her, he fisted a hand, and slammed it against the wall to vent his displeasure. "I want answers, and I want them now!"

She jumped back, and started singing again: "MAI, have you progressed with translations?"

"I detect over three thousand dialects on his planet, making it a rather complex process."

Startled, David sought the source of the other alien.

"We only need one." The alien woman seemed to plead to her cohort.  She stomped her foot in frustration, and addressed her partner in crime again. "Let me know when you've completed the translation."

Tired of being ignored, he slammed his fist against the bulkhead again. "Independence was unarmed. You had no reason to shoot me down! Damn it woman, all I wanted to do was make contact."

The alien showed no comprehension, and his frustration skyrocketed. "I demand to speak to your superior!"

She shook her head in disapproval and ran from the room.

Perplexed by her reaction, David stopped venting, and slid off the bunk with every intention of following. He didn't get far. The floor tilted at an odd angle, and he was forced to grab the bed until he overcame the dizziness. His feet came into focus, followed by a set of muscular thighs, and well developed abdominal muscles.

David sucked in his gut and touched his stomach in disbelief. "Those can't be mine."

All signs of his dilapidated body were completely reversed. His anger waned. Maybe he was wrong, and she was an angel. She had certainly saved his life… But, that didn't make up for shooting him down. How long had he been onboard this ship? Was he now an alien specimen to be used for some sinister experiment?

The alien returned, dressed in a black, slim fitting flight suit. She held up a pair of pale blue pants and a sleeveless white shirt and threw them on the end of his bed then, sang to him quietly.

David listened to her sing-song voice, noting her calm, albeit nervous disposition.

    She approached him cautiously.

He stood still, curious to see what she would do, but ready to defend him self at a moments notice. His eyes locked with hers, and he became captivated by the golden sparks that danced in the depths of her doe-like eyes. Wary, but not immune, he felt the heat of her body as she moved closer.

She raised her hand, and he instinctively pulled back but it didn't deter her from her task. He tensed, but she only removed the electrodes attached to his temples. A sudden, unexpected desire to pull her into his arms and brush those lush pink lips with his surged through him. Before he could act on his fanciful notion, the woman stepped out of his reach and bolted from the room.

This time he would not let her out of his sight. He followed, but came to a sudden halt at an invisible barrier. Every molecule in his body tried to jump in different directions, painfully threatening to shred him to pieces. He slumped to the floor in agony. Full-blown anger mixed with pain dissolved all sense of reason. First she blasted him from the stars, now she held him prisoner...
