ALEXANDER, CAPTAIN DAVID: He was Earth's first astronaut to travel into deep space. After spending ten years in cryogenic stasis he is instrumental in first contact. David departs Earth with his alien wife Zara in 2028, and finally arrives on Shimura in 2034. He is sworn into the SSC, and now plays an important role with Zara in the running of the Shimuran Starship Command. See his life story in Star Dust.
ALEXANDER, CAPTAIN ZARA: (DARIEN) From the planet of Shimura. Surrogate sister to Caradoc Rimon, and daughter of Raymond. She is the alien to make first contact with Earth in 2028. After her temporal bore-hole collapsed, she was left stranded and alone with a damaged ship in an unknown quadrant of the galaxy. After shooting down the Independence she saves David Alexander, and liberates Earth into a new space age. See Star Dust for details. She plays a prominent role in the running of Shimura because she becomes Caradoc's second in command.
ALEXANDER, CASSY: Daughter of David and Zara born December 18, 2019. She is the first Shimuran with a mixed descent, and is currently growing into an unusually talented and sensitive girl on the planet of Shimura. Look for her in Children of the Stars.
ALEXANDER, DUNCAN: Son of David and Zara, born January 7, 2021, on the planet of Paradise. He has been a handful since the day he was born. You will have to find out what type of mischief he gets into...
ALEXANDER, EVAN: Son of David and Zara, born March 21, 2023 on the planet of Paradise, in the Bravo Galaxy.
BLACKWELL, DUSTY: From the planet of Moria. See his life story in Star Lost.
BRIDGES, GENERAL JOSEPH: From the planet Earth. Head of the ANESA space program in 2025.
BROWN, LIEUTENANT NATHAN: An ANESA Control worker.
COLE, CAPTAIN ROBERT: From the planet Earth. One of Karen O'Reilly's top students in 2025. He travels to Orison in 2026 and ends up getting lost in an uncharted quadrant of the universe. He comes into his duality quite unexpectedly while stranded in the Galaxy of Flame. See Star Burst for more information.
DARIEN, VICE ADMIRAL RAYMOND: From the planet of Shimura. He is the father of Zara, and Shimura's finest delegate who was responsible for welcoming 36 new planets into the Alliance. He dies in 2018 when his freighter Xaviour crashes into Titan. See Star Dust for details. His spirit still haunts the historical crash site on the Titan moon.
DIAMOND, COLONEL GAVIN: From the planet of Orison. Gavin is head of research for new technologies, and Orison's intergalactic delegate representing their technological planet. Husband to Deanna, and close personal friend to Caradoc. He plays a minor role, but an important one that spans the whole series.
DIAMOND, DEANNA: Wife to Gavin, and best friend of Miranda Valen.
DUNN, MAJOR RYAN: From Earth. Plays a major role in the first three books. Ryan shows the potential for greatness, but makes some very bad choices. His story begins to take shape in Star Born, and climaxes in Star Burst.
FADEN, TIARA: A young Shimuran woman who plays a crystal flute in 2026.
GLADDEN, JOSEPH: News reporter for CNN news.
KELSON, COMMANDER JONATHON: A Shimuran in control of his duality 2026 is sent to Eden with Colonel Gavin Diamond to deliver their starships & assist the settlers of Eden. Look for him in the future.
KENNEDY, CAPTAIN ANDREW: From the planet Earth. Travels with General Nelson to Shimura in 2026 to help find Star Born.
McDONALD, LIEUTENANT JONATHAN: An ANESA Control worker.
MEYERS, LIEUTENANT DANIEL: Was left to die on Titan by the Morian pirates in 2025. Rescued by Major Karen O'Reilly, he travels to Shimura in 2026 to return the favor and rescue her.
NELSON, MAJOR GENERAL THOMAS: From the planet Earth. Adopted father of David Alexander, Grandfather to Casey and surrogate father of Ryan Dunn. After retiring as head of the NASA space program in 2024, Thomas spreads his wings and becomes Earth's first intergalactic trade representative. At the ripe old age of 66 he has the time of his life, and continues to play a major role in the Shimuran Legacy.
NOLAN, CAPTAIN LANCE: From the planet of Shimura. In 2026 he is introduced as another Shimuran to experience the transformation of his perceptions. He is sent to the planet of Eden to assist the edenites, and deliver the new equipment. Look for him in the future.
OSBORNE, MAJOR MANUEL: From Earth. Travels with General Nelson to Shimura in 2026 to assist in the search for Star Born, and the rescue of Karen from the Morian pirates.
RIMON, FLEET ADMIRAL CARADOC: From the planet of Shimura. His name means "beloved." Caradoc is grandson to Admiral Donovan Rimon, son of Vice Admiral Sedric Rimon and husband to Karen O'Reilly of Earth. Caradoc is 32 seasons of age when becomes Admiral of the Shimuran Starship Command in 2025. His life figures prominently in the Legacy, but the details of his transition are found in Star Born, and his talents as a leader are developed in Star Burst. Watch for Star Lost to find out what strength of character really means when he learns to forgive his worst enemy.
RIMON, FLEET ADMIRAL DONOVAN (RETIRED): Head of the SSC until 2025 when he hands the reigns over to his grandson Caradoc. His life transcends all three books, and he begins to enjoy his retirement in the fourth.
RIMON, ADMIRAL SEDRIC: Sedric was next in line to take over the Shimuran Starship Command in 2018. However, fate caused his freighter Xaviour to crash into the Titan moon, leaving the fate of the SSC in the hands of his son Caradoc. Details of his life are in Star Dust. Sedric has become a restless spirit. There is some unfinished business that requires his attention. His ghostly presence is heralded by his golden medallion of office. They appear in Star Born and Star Burst. He finally finds peace in Star Lost.
CAPTAIN KAREN: (O'REILLY) Formerly of Earth. One of the first people to experience the duality condition. Now wife to Caradoc Rimon. See Star Born, for details of her life and romance. In the year 2026 she is taken hostage and handed over to the Morian pirates. See Star Burst for details, and watch for Star Lost.
RIMON, SERENA: Older sister of Caradoc, she was 16 seasons of age 2003, when the Napier was destroyed by Morian pirates.
SANDERS, LIEUTENANT KEITH: From Earth. Trained by Karen in 2025. He travels with General Nelson in 2026 to help search for Karen.
SILOS, COMMISSIONER NEIL: From the planet of Oneida. Head of the Alliance of Sentient Planets in 2025.
STYLES, COLONEL GORDON: In 2025 his is left in charge of supervising Karen Rimon's wishes while the planet of Eden is settled. He maintains base camp, which eventually becomes Eden's Starship Command in 2027 when six starships are supplied by Shimura to ensure their independence from Earth.
TILLMAN, CAPTAIN SYD: From the planet of Shimura.
VALEN, ELIZABETH: The first Maneean, wife to Marcus Valen in 2026.
VALEN, CAPTAIN MARCUS: From the planet of Shimura. Twin brother to Miranda. He experiences the duality condition in Star Born, and develops his talents in Star Burst when the battle of Good vs. Evil leaves him stranded in an unknown quadrant of the universe. He uses his talents to rescues Beth from her hostage situation, and loses his heart in the process.
VALEN, COMMANDER MIRANDA: Twin sister to Marcus, and the second Shimuran female to be sworn into the SSC. She experiences first hand the meaning of violence and ends up stranded in the Galaxy of Flame in Star Burst. She and Robert Cole separate together and learn how to manage their gift from Beth and Marcus.
WILLIAMS, CAPTAIN BETH: From the planet Earth. She was taken hostage by the Morian Pirates in 2025, and rescued by Major Karen O'Reilly. She developed the duality condition prematurely at the end of 2025, and was kidnapped by one of the main characters of this Legacy in 2026. She is traumatized by the violence that has torn her life asunder. She becomes stranded in the Galaxy of Flame with Marcus and Miranda Valen, Ryan Dunn and Robert Cole.
